Illinois Central College (ICC) is joining community colleges across the country this April in celebrating Community College Month, a grassroots education campaign coordinated by the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) to improve awareness of the economic, academic, and equity advantages of attending community colleges. This year’s theme is Cultivating Skills for the Future. IT Workforce Accelerator Surpasses Goals, Helping Over 800 Residents Gain Skills for New Careers
The IT Workforce Accelerator program is funded by a $14.6 million U.S. Economic Development Administration grant received by Bradley University, Eureka College, and Illinois Central College in 2022. The program allows the three schools to provide no-cost IT training to help Central Illinois residents and employees upgrade their skills and get jobs in IT. Driving Educational Equity: Dual Credit Expansion and Virtual Reality EMT Training
Illinois Central College (ICC) recently received two grants from the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) totaling $204,018 through June 30, 2025. The program will help more low-income students earn college credits while in high school. The Access and Equity in Dual Credit Project grant awarded $149,958 to ICC to expand dual credit opportunities for high school students in Central Illinois, including Peoria Public High Schools, Pekin High School and Limestone High School. NSF Grant Cultivates Next Wave of STEM Talent via Innovative Water Analysis Program
